Red and white illustration of a Christmas present
Back To All Recipes

Eric W Odom

This is a Christmas family tradition - it’s only made during the holiday, and I’ve had it every Christmas of my life. Here is a slightly modified recipe based on my grandfather’s recipe (I can’t give away his secrets, lol).

  • 1⁄4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 1⁄4 teaspoons seasoning salt
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce

DIRECTIONS

Step 1

Preheat oven to 250.

Step 2

Mix the melted butter, celery salt, garlic salt, seasoning salt, Worcestershire sauce, Cayenne pepper, and Tabasco sauce in a cup/bowl with a spout.

Step 3

Mix the remaining dry ingredients in a large baking pan.

Step 4

Pour the butter and seasonings over the dry mix, stirring until each piece is coated.

Step 5

Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

Step 6

Let cool for ~30 minutes.

Step 7

Store in an air-tight container and enjoy!

NOTES

Freezes well. Make a large batch and freeze some for later.
Easily double or triple the recipe by doubling or tripling the amount of ingredients.
Modify to your liking, e.g., use only cashews or pecans instead of mixed nuts.
